Update to Email List

I’m sorry for the inconvenience, but we are switching back to feedburner in July, which is a slow process. Everyone on the list will receive an email asking them to confirm the subscription. I’m so sorry for the inconvenience, but this change is going to help the site and offer more chances for free books and giveaways! We really hope you stick with us for the changeover!

Manga Art by Mark Crilley {book review}

9780385346313

I got the chance to check out this Manga Art book by Mark Crilley. The drawings and graphics are awesome, but I feel like it wasn’t for me. It goes over how each piece is drawn, but for a novice drawer like myself, it wasn’t enough to teach me what to do. For an experienced artist, however, if you like manga you should really enjoy this book!

Foundations of Drawing by Al Gury {Book Review}

9780307987181

I am so happy to have checked out this book. I have always wanted to improve my drawing skills, but never took any classes. Now, I have ambitions with my Silhouette Cameo to draw my own graphics for either personal use, or to sell. This book covers so many different techniques for beginners (and I’m sure there are some new tips for more experienced artists as well).  I will update this review with my first drawing from the book!

Finally Focused by James Greenblatt, M.D., and Bill Gottlieb, CHC. {Book Review}

9780451496591

As a mother of a child who will most likely have ADD (family history and 8 weeks premature), I have found the information in this guide to be extremely useful. While most people just right to prescription medication, this book covers all aspects including diet and behavioral changes.

The IBS Elimination Diet and Cookbook Review

Digestive problems run heavily in both sides of my family. I have tried everything from prescriptions to probiotics to even a yeast free diet. While skeptical about anything that will fix it, I find this to be a thorough guide covering everything from diagnosis to treatment options and meal plans. Keeping a food diary is pretty vital and I feel like this is the inspiration I need to finally start doing it. The book focuses on (polyols) FODMAPs that trigger IBSand a diet that is low in those triggering foods. The only thing I would’ve wanted would be more photos because I am a visual inspiration type of person.
